About Liz Hutchinson: Liz is founder and director of Rose City Tango Academy (Rosecitytangoacademy.com). Liz began her dance training in Seattle at the age of 3, studying ballet, modern and contemporary dance, contact improv, and many other styles. She received her BA in Dance and BS in Math from the University of Washington and has since focused on Argentine tango. Her 28+ years of dance experience, knowledge of anatomy, and geometer's brain have strongly informed and shaped her into a unique and powerful tango dancer. Liz began teaching tango in 2011 in Seattle. She spent 3 years living nomadically, teaching workshops, performing, and DJing around the USA, Europe, and Argentina. She has spent time dancing, teaching, performing, and DJing in many of the world's best tango cities including living, studying and dancing in Buenos Aires. In January 2017, she relocated to Portland, OR, excited to join in the community and help build a new generation of tangueros. September 2017 marked the opening of Rose City Tango Academy, centered in the Hollywood district of Portland.
